In this series, I seek to reflect on the art of self-portraits, which, due to the agglutination and without any shame, was suffocated and re-baptized, under a new creed, with the name of ‘SELFIE’.
In this sense, the epicenter of these pieces is beauty as a mandatory subject, since it is impossible for me to not understand it through women as its origin; which is why I share a universe composed of twenty women who, armed with their cell phones, decided to share their vision, desires, and personalities through the immediate satisfaction of ‘empowering’ themselves in their Facebook profile, enticed with the irresistible placebo of re-inventing themselves as many times as they considered necessary.
This plastic exercise is as banal as deep, for it feeds by digging into a sea of ‘profile pictures’ of anonymous women, who I collected motivated by the different arguments of each of their personalities.
